Schistocerca quisqueya

Schistocerca quisqueya is a bird grasshopper endemic to the island of Hispaniola (Dominican Republic and Haiti), where it occurs in grassy and shrubby areas, often along forest edges; up to 500 m or higher. The size is very small (20-36 mm) for the genus. Cinnamon-brown to brown, with two buff dots, and a greenish-white lateral streak on the pronotum. The walking legs are apple green in the male, and brown in the female; the proximal portion of caudal tibia is green, and the rest is buff or red.
